Suggestions: User Preferences / Settings (Master Topic)
Shane
- Add default preferences: Model, Gen Model, Remix Variance, Clip Start, Lyric Timing, Clip Timing, If ‘Navigate to Folder’ selection should be default on/off. (Templates may be better for some of these, when they’re model dependent, see below).
- Add the option to have the advanced bar always open.
- Add: Light mode. Or more contrasting mode (as the current colour scheme can be difficult with users that have some visual difficulties).
- Add: Default automated “Attribution" or "Description" field text.
- Add: Left or Right side folder tree
- Allow the user to dictate what’s shown on the home page and the order that they’re shown. Like out of “Staff Picks”, “Categories”, “Top Tracks”, “Trending” “Following”.
- Templates? Instead of default settings*
*Use Udio’s internal ‘Copy Track Settings' to copy over all the settings over with a track marked as a template. A default template could also be set up which would be in place of the Preferences. This would be more versatile than preferences as they could use different templates depending on what they wanted to do for a generation. This could also be used alongside a drag and drop feature in the creation window. To drag a track over from the creation library to the working creation tool and automatically 'Copy Track Settings' over.

Creation Drafts

Creation drafts would be useful, which could also act as templates. With automatic draft saving of what you're working on, and also to be able to load a creation straight from a saved draft.

Remove preference settings to replace with automatic track settings (templates / creation drafts)

Just wondering if we really need a 'preferences' settings like we have now? Given it also keeps breaking and being unreliable on setting things.
Could Udio internally just use 'copy track settings' instead to copy over all the settings on an extend or remix or inpaint? So then it's variable depending on what we used for the generation.
For new gens we could set up a default template that's used for the 'copy track settings' to go against. Potentially allowing more options of different templates (from a drop down somewhere) that we commonly use, to populate frequent settings quick and easy.
This could also be used alongside a drag and drop feature in the creation window. To drag a track over from the creation library to the working create panel to automatically 'Copy Track Settings' over.

With that system it gives more options available. Defaults automatically to settings previously used for tracks (which is useful). And devs would only have to concentrate on keeping the 'Copy Track Settings' working properly, rather than the preferences also.

Templetes

I would like to request a feature for saving templates in the music generation process. This would allow users to save their preferred settings and reuse them without having to input the same information repeatedly.
Specifically, I'm interested in a template that keeps the lyrics field empty by default. This would enable users to easily input their own custom lyrics each time, rather than having to clear out auto-generated lyrics.
Having such a template system would greatly streamline the music creation process, especially for users who frequently create songs with their own lyrics.
